Summary
Noorani Browser is a product of Ataraxy Developers, registered in Islamabad, Pakistan. The browser runs entirely on your device. Your prayer-time calculations, Qibla bearing, Hijri date, browsing history, bookmarks, and search queries stay on your computer. We do not operate analytics infrastructure that tracks Noorani users.
If you report a bug or send us an email, we see what you wrote and whatever log you attached — and nothing else.
What we collect
By default: nothing. No telemetry. No analytics. No "anonymous usage statistics." The browser makes no automatic connections to Ataraxy Developers' servers. If you install Noorani and never touch the settings, we will never know you exist.
What we don't collect
Specifically and explicitly, we do not collect:
- Your browsing history — URLs, domain names, or page titles
- Your prayer-time queries — coordinates, calculation method, location name
- Your Qibla bearing or physical location
- Your search queries from the address bar
- The content of your tabs, bookmarks, or downloads
- Your IP address (there is no server for it to land on)
- Any identifier — device ID, install ID, session token, or user ID
- Any usage pattern — time of day, feature use, session length
Opt-in crash reports
If Noorani crashes, the browser can generate a crash report with a stack trace, the browser version, and your operating system. This report is never sent automatically. On crash, you'll see a dialog asking whether you want to send the report; the report's full contents are shown to you before sending. You can redact anything, or cancel.
When you do choose to send, the report goes to nooranibrowser@gmail.com over a standard email connection, which means Google sees the fact of the email. We don't run a dedicated crash-collection server. At launch volumes we don't need one.
Third-party services
Noorani itself does not rely on third-party services for user-facing functionality. However, a few indirect touchpoints may apply:
- This website. nooranibrowser.com is hosted on Hostinger shared hosting. Hostinger maintains standard web-server access logs at the infrastructure level; we don't add analytics on top. No cookies are set by this site. See our Cookie Policy.
- Downloads. When we publish to GitHub Releases, downloading from GitHub is subject to GitHub's privacy policy.
- Browser-initiated connections. Like any browser, Noorani fetches the pages you type in. Those pages have their own privacy policies. Chromium's default auto-complete and safe-browsing services are disabled in Noorani.
Data retention
We have nothing to retain. Emails you send us are retained at Ataraxy Developers' discretion for as long as the conversation is useful — typically a year — and deleted on request.
Children's privacy
Noorani is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone, let alone children. Parents may choose to install Noorani on a child's device; the browser itself does not track children or adults.
Your rights
Because we don't collect your data, most data-subject rights are satisfied by the architecture itself. For completeness:
- Right to access — there is nothing to access. Your data is on your machine.
- Right to deletion — uninstalling Noorani removes your profile, bookmarks, and history.
- Right to portability — Noorani can export bookmarks, history, and settings as standard files (HTML for bookmarks, JSON for settings).
- Right to rectification — nothing about you is recorded by us that could be incorrect.
These rights apply to residents of jurisdictions with data-protection frameworks including the EU (GDPR), California (CCPA/CPRA), and Pakistan (PDPA). If a specific legal instrument applies to you, we honour it in good faith.
Jurisdiction
Noorani Browser is developed and published by Ataraxy Developers, an entity registered in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. This policy is governed by the laws of Pakistan. Where Pakistani law conflicts with a stronger privacy standard applicable to you (e.g., GDPR for EU residents), we apply the stronger standard.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we'll update the "Effective" date and describe the change in the release notes for the version that introduced it. We don't silently rewrite history.
